Wed 17th Dec 2008: Chesterfield - Nottingham Not wanting to waste the sun I went out and photted a few bits and bob's from my local area, and a trip to see the HST's which are now running from Nottingham to St Pancras. After over 30 years on the Midland Mainline good old Stagecoach saw fit to remove them from the Sheffield to Pancras workings.

Sat 13th Sep 2008: Camlik Railway Museum - Turkey This place reminded me of an elephants graveyard. I only stumbled upon it whilst scootering around on holiday in Turkey. It is in a town called Camlik and is a wonderfull celebration of the Turkish TCDD. (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devlet Demiryolları). It is located around the area of the original station and engine sheds. Nearby is the new station which has one train a day at the moment. There is so much history here I wouldn't know where to begin so it would be well worth a visit to this website. www.trainsofturkey.com

Tue 29th Jul 2008: Water Orton - Rugeley Trent Valley Took a trip to Water Orton which wasn't too bad. Plenty of units whilst waiting for the real stuff. Missed a shot of the Fastline 56 due to having a beer in the pub by the footbridge. Rugeley proved to be more satisfying in the afternoon though.

Sat 19th Jul 2008: Tugs in Town Since the closure of Lincoln for re-signalling work quite a few oil trains have been diverted through Chesterfield. Here are a few of the tugs that have hauled these freights as well as the usual working by class 60's

Sun 13th Apr 2008: Great Central Diesel Gala I managed a day off to get to the gala which I thoroughly enjoyed. The weather was the usual for our country and the sun came out AFTER the loco had passed by. Great to see the old diesels running and to hear those old familiar engines.

Fri 4th Apr 2008: Rugeley Trent Valley Drove to Rugeley to catch a few electrics. The weather was fairly bright but the sun was playing hard to get. Not a bad day with a few 90's, 92's and DRS 66's

Sat 22nd Mar 2008: Barrow Hill - Tapton Journeyed to Barrow Hill cutting for 6233 the 'Duchess of Sutherland' working 'The Yorkshireman' from Leicester to York. Due to engineering works at Sheffield and Meadowhall the Cross Country Edinburgh and Bristol services were diverting through Barrow Hill and crossing at Tapton.

Fri 21st Mar 2008: Tapton Junction A cold day but some good sun for a while. Due to a lot of work going on around these parts the trees and undergrowth have been cut back affording views not accessible in the recent past.

Thu 20th Mar 2008: Retford - Worksop - Tapton A cold blustery visit to Retford with very poor light. At Thrumpton signal box heavy rain came so I waited for a while but to no avail. I decided to head for Worksop where I could sit under cover at least and take some shots. This is a great little station and the bridge makes for a great shot.
